Ford has issued a recall for more than 1,600 units of the current-generation Ranger ute after identifying a braking system fault that could compromise safety.
The Issue
According to the company’s recall notice, a software problem may prevent the brake boost function from working correctly. This could lead to reduced braking performance, requiring drivers to apply extra pedal force and potentially increasing stopping distances.
If the fault occurs, drivers will be alerted by warning lights and audible alerts on the instrument cluster, including indicators for the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System), ESC (Electronic Stability Control), and the brake system.
