  • This Porsche GT4 RS has green paint and bright blue accents.
  • Blue trim continues through the cabin, dash, and seats.
  • More than $50K in extras added to an already pricey car.

The Porsche Cayman GT4 RS may be one of the most finely balanced sports cars ever built, but that doesn’t mean every example rolls off the lot with universally good taste. As with all things customizable, not every configuration hits the mark.

This particular GT4 RS, recently listed by Porsche Bellevue in Washington, is a case in point. It might be the strangest spec we’ve seen to date.

Evidently, the original owner wanted a car that stood out. Most of the Cayman’s exterior has been bathed in a bright shade of green, which appears to be Birch Green. For a car as flamboyant as the GT4 RS, a color as dramatic as this suits it quite well. However, it’s the blue accents that don’t do the it any favors.

Color Clash or Creative Swing?

The wheels, wing mirrors, rear wing end plates, and the NACA ducts on the hood are painted blue, making this Porsche look like the blue and green RC car from Toy Story. Even the Porsche lettering on the rear is finished in blue. But, for as wild as the exterior of this Cayman is, it’s the interior that’s even more outlandish.

The bolsters and headrests of the seats are trimmed in matching blue leather, a material that’s also found on the door panels and the lower half of the dashboard.

Painted green trim appears across the dash, transmission tunnel, door panels, and even within the seats, outlining the piping with near-theatrical flair. There are also fabric seat inserts, patches of black leather, and a consistent thread of blue contrast stitching tying it all together, or at least trying to.

This GT4 RS was optioned through Porsche’s Sonderwunsch program, known as the Special Wishes division, which allows customers to push well beyond the standard configurator.

In this case, that meant more than $50,000 in extra features and finishes. Whether that money was well spent may come down to personal taste, but it certainly didn’t go unnoticed.

At the time of publishing, the listing had been taken down from Porsche Bellevue’s site, suggesting the car didn’t linger long. Whatever your opinion on the spec, someone out there was willing to take it home.
