Bentley Builds A Special Bentayga For Women, But Only In Japan
  • This special Bentayga is known as the Something Blue Collection.
  • The limited-run model will start at 34 million yen in Japan.
  • Found in the cabin is white and grey leather with blue accents.

Bentley has unveiled a special version of the Bentayga in Japan, catered specifically towards female buyers and set to be capped at just 10 examples. Rather than making the Bentayga overtly feminine, the Mulliner division has instead created something quite subtle.

Known as the Bentley Bentayga Something Blue Collection by Mulliner, the special model gets its name from the Victorian-era ‘Something Four’ rhyme, a Western wedding tradition that has become popular in Japan. To receive good fortune, brides must wear something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue.

With this in mind, the special Bentayga has a metallic white ‘Ice’ paint scheme that has hints of blue under certain light. The limited-run model then sits on 22-inch silver wheels with brake calipers matching the exterior paint.

Several blue accents have then been added to the interior, including Bentley badges embroidered on the seat backrests and blue flower motifs on the dashboard.

The rest of the cabin is a combination of Linen and Graphite Grey-colored leather. These grey elements are found on the steering wheel, the top of the door panels, the dashboard, and around the central control unit and infotainment screen. Mulliner has also added special scuff plates with ‘Something Blue Collection’ plaques.

Bentley lifted the veil on the special Bentayga at the Ooyane Plaza in Tokyo over the weekend. It confirmed that prices will start at 34 million yen ($219,400) and that several of the planned models have already been accounted for.

The carmaker’s 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 comes standard, delivering 542 hp and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque between 2,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm. This is enough grunt to propel the Bentayga to 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.5 seconds and through to a 180 mph (290 km/h) top speed.
