G-Power’s 690 HP BMW M2 Makes Even The CS Feel Like A 220i

G-Power’s 690 HP BMW M2 Makes Even The CS Feel Like A 220i
  • G-Power boosts new BMW M2 coupe to nearly 700 hp.
  • Torque climbs to 619 lb-ft with tune and new exhaust.
  • Carbon GP-Venturi hood improves cooling, looks ace.

If you felt underwhelmed by the light refresh and 20 hp (20PS) power boost BMW gave the M2 last year, or couldn’t get an allocation for the new M2 CS, G-Power has you covered. The German tuner has just unveiled its latest creation, the G2M Bi-Turbo, and it turns the already spicy G87 into something that sounds like it bench presses XMs for fun.

From the factory, the current M2 delivers 473 hp (480 PS) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) with the eight speed auto, or 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) if you row your own gears. The hotter, auto-only M2 CS makes 523 hp (390 kW) and 479 lb-ft (650 Nm). Both cars are plenty fast for most mortals, but G-Power clearly doesn’t cater to most mortals.

With its GP-700 performance software and supporting hardware, the S58 3.0 liter twin turbo inline six now pumps out 690 hp (700 PS) and 619 lb-ft (840 Nm). That’s knocking on supercar territory from something that still technically qualifies as a compact coupe.

Hardware and software

The heart of the upgrade is a recalibrated ECU setup that sharpens throttle response and fattens up torque delivery, while keeping OEM engine protection and diagnostics intact. To get there, G-Power performs a €595 ($700) ECU unlock before adding its €3,595 ($4,240) tune, €3,689 ($4,350) of HJS sport downpipes, a €4,760 ($5,610) GP-Deeptone rear silencer, and a €3,213 ($3,790) carbon fiber intake system. That’s quite an investment.

Straight line performance numbers haven’t been quoted yet, but with that much grunt, it’s safe to assume this M2 won’t be hanging around waiting for permission, and will probably fire to 60 mph (96 km/h) in the low-3-second range, providing you can get the rear tires to hook up. No xDrive all-wheel drive on the M2, remember.

Carbon hood

It’s the same basic engine package used in previous G-Power packages, including the 690 hp M2 kit we wrote about in 2024, but the G2M Bi-Turbo looks like it’s making 100 horses more. The headline act is the new €5,950 ($7,000) GP-Venturi carbon hood. Aside from looking like it belongs on a time attack build, it uses Dynamic Venting with Venturi nozzles to actively extract heat from the engine bay. You can spec it fully clear coated or partially finished in body color. Gotta be the clear coat, right?

Rounding the package out are Hurrican RR forged wheels measuring 20 inches up front and 21 inches at the rear, wrapped in meaty Michelin rubber. All of these modifications, by the way, including the engine upgrades are fully TUV approved, which means they’re legal in Germany and should also give you confidence in their quality.
