The Mustang TLD Looks Like A GT But Won’t Sound Like One
  • Ford has introduced a new Mustang EcoBoost TLD Signature Edition.
  • Adds colorful graphics as well as a hood, grille, and bumper from the GT.
  • Production will be limited to 550 units and the package costs $3,000.

Ford introduced the Mustang Dark Horse SC earlier this year and they’re gearing up to unveil an updated GTD shortly. Apparently, though, that isn’t enough pony car action for the Blue Oval as they’ve unveiled a new Mustang EcoBoost TLD Signature Edition Package.

Created in collaboration with Troy Lee Designs, the package adds an assortment of colorful touches to the Mustang EcoBoost. While the model is offered exclusively in Shadow Black, buyers will find red, orange, purple, and yellow body side graphics with a running horse.

That isn’t the only change as the special edition comes equipped with a grille, front fascia, and hood sourced from the Mustang GT. This gives the model a sportier and more menacing appearance, while also disguising the fact that you settled for a four-cylinder.

The grille sports a Sinister Bronze Mustang logo as well as matching nostrils on either side. They’re joined by Sinister Bronze 19-inch wheels and a similar logo at the back.

Rounding out the highlights are a hood graphic and a lightly revised interior. The latter features Black and Carmine Red leather seats with red stitching. They’re joined by a serialized badge on the dashboard, which sports a colorful design that echoes the one outside.

The Mustang TLD Signature Edition package costs $3,000 and production will be limited to 550 units.

Dark Horse SC Orders Open In April

Ford will begin accepting orders for the Mustang RTR and TLD Signature Edition packages starting on March 27. The former, as you may recall, has an Avalanche Gray exterior and a GT grille with illuminated nostrils. They’re joined by an assortment of performance features sourced from the GT and Dark Horse.

As for the Mustang Dark Horse SC, orders open in late April. Pricing starts at $103,490 and that nets buyers a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 with over 700 hp (522 kW / 710 PS).
