$935,000 Buys You Three Ferrari-Powered Alfas, And One Was Never Driven

$935,000 Buys You Three Ferrari-Powered Alfas, And One Was Never Driven
  • A Dubai dealer is selling three Alfa Romeo 8C models for $935,000.
  • The collection includes two coupes and a delivery-mileage Spider.
  • The 8C rides on Maserati bones fitted with a Ferrari-sourced V8.

If a cool million is burning a hole in your pocket and you fly the Alfa Romeo flag, keep reading. The exotic, sold-out 33 Stradale supercar sits outside your reach, but the money lands you not one but three examples of the gorgeous Alfa Romeo 8C, enough to build a properly colorful garage around.

The 8C arrived in concept form in 2003, and the production car followed in 2007 riding on the bones of the Maserati GranTurismo.

Alfa built just 829 of them, split between 500 coupes and 329 Spiders, the latter cut short when the financial crisis pulled the rug out. Every one used a Ferrari-sourced 4.7-liter V8 hiding under the sculpted bodywork that Wolfgang Egger drew.

While its Maserati sibling has depreciated a lot over the past decade, the more exclusive Alfa Romeo holds its value. Now, Dubai dealer Tomini Classics has two 8C Competizione coupes and an 8C Spider listed for sale, creating a tempting combo for collectors.

First up is a 2009 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Coupe wearing the signature Rosso Competizione over a red leather cabin. It counts as one of the 70 cars sent to Japan and carries a $310,000 asking price after 14,100 km (8,761 miles) since new.

The second car is a 2009 model but has a more unique spec. The exterior is finished in the rare Azzurro Monaco Metallic, tastefully combined with a tan leather and suede cabin. Showing 23,058 km (14,328 miles) on the odometer, this rare bird is the most affordable of the bunch with a price tag of $295,000 even though it is still higher than the original sticker price of $265,000 from 2007.

Rounding out the collection is an open-top variant with delivery mileage. The 2010 Alfa Romeo 8C Spider is finished in a Bianco Madreperla pearlescent white paired with a brown soft top and tan leather seats.

Originally delivered to Hong Kong, it shows just 24 km (15 miles) on the clock, which means it never once rolled out of the garage. That untouched condition explains the $330,000 ask, a figure that looks fair once you remember the car cost $299,000 new back in 2009.

Acquiring all three classics would cost a combined $935,000. At this price, the trio competes with used supercars like the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the McLaren Senna, and the Ferrari SF90 Spider or an allocation for a brand new Aston Martin Valhalla.

Naturally, those are insanely more capable in terms of performance, but the privilege of owning three limited-production Alfas that might appreciate in value even more is quite tempting.
