Hyundai Motor India Announces the Name of Its Much-Awaited Intelligent SUV

Gurugram | September 14, 2026:Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) today announced the name of its much-anticipated upcoming intelligent SUV, Hyundai BAYON. A new global SUV from Hyundai, BAYON marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Hyundai in India.


As a new addition to HMIL's strong SUV line-up, Hyundai BAYON reflects a new approach to intelligent mobility, where innovation, expression and emotion come together with a clear sense of purpose. Crafted for an evolving India, the new SUV embodies Hyundai’s global design and product philosophy while bringing an intelligent experience to a new generation of customers.

The name BAYON draws inspiration from Bayonne, a city in the French Basque Country, known for its distinctive character and dynamic spirit. The name reflects Hyundai’s global design philosophy while marking the arrival of a new SUV created for an evolving India, with a sense of exhilaration and a new spirit of adventure.
