BYD has recalled all 36,000+ Shark 6 pickups that were sold in Australia. The defect relates to a faulty spare wheel support. If it fails, the spare wheel could become detached. BYD made a shock entry into the pickup space with their plug-in hybrid Shark 6. But despite going head-to-head with established competitors, the model has proved popular, not least in the land of the UTE, with Australian consumers buying over 32,000 examples in the two years since it was launched. But every one of those Shark 6s has been issued a recall (32,009 to be precise) and it’s all because the spare wheel could fall out. German tuning house TechArt’s new GTclassic is a Singer-style backdated 911. It’s based on the 964 coupe and gets an air-cooled, 375 hp, 3.8-liter flat six. A twin-vent frunk lid, ducktail rear wing and 18-inch forged wheels are standard. Seventeen years have now passed since Singer was founded in 2009. To put some context to that, the 964-generation 911 Singer based its builds on had only been off sale 15 years at the time. But only now, in 2026, with the Porsche market flooded with backdated 964s, has TechArt jumped on the trend. And that may seem kind of strange, because TechArt has been in business since 1987, though until now it’s always focused on contemporary Porsches, including the Stuttgart brand’s SUVs.
